A typical British dessert to be enjoyed with an English cream and a cup of tea.
4 green apples
180 gr. of sugar
100 gr. flour
120 gr. butter
1 vanilla bean
2 tablespoons apricot jam
Peel the apples and cut them into slices which are not too thin. Add apricot jam by brushing it on the apples.
Place them on a buttered baking sheet and sprinkle with sugar (90 gr).
Sift the flour, add the sugar, the vanilla bean (having cut and extraced the seed) and the cold butter in small cubes. Mix quickly until all the ingredients have taken on a classic crumb-like consistency.
Distribute the crumble over the apples and bake in the oven at 200°C for 30 minutes. Serve warm and, if you like, add the crème anglaise.
